Ledger Launches Portable Hardware Wallet Nano X
• Ledger’s Nano X Hardware Wallet brings portable bluetooth functionality and addresses user complaints.
Popular hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger have announced a new version of their Nano device.
The new product introduces bluetooth compatibility, pairing with the users mobile phone to allow secure access to cryptocurrencies on the move as well as at home. This replaces the existing wired device, that must be connected directly to a computer.
With the Nano X, users will be able to send, receive and check crypto balances on the fly, accessing their funds with the Ledger Live mobile app.
Alongside portability, the new device promises to address long-standing issues with the existing Nano. Users of the old device were only able to access any four cryptocurrencies at once, due to limited storage space. Although all cryptocurrencies could be safely stored, users had to spend time shuffling their devices, deleting apps to make room.
This issue will be resolved with the new model, which claims to allow the storage of up to one hundred apps.
Security is also set to remain the highest priority for the Ledger team, with the new device updating to a CC EAL5 secure chip.
Ledger’s Nano X hardware wallet will retail for €119.00 and is expected to start shipping out as soon as March.
